Coffee Grinders

The grinder has the biggest impact on coffee flavour. Burr grinders make even grounds that extract evenly, whether manual, electric or single-dose.

How to choose

  • Choose burr over blade grinders.
  • Make sure it grinds fine enough for your brew method.
  • Consider single-dose grinders for freshness.
  • Check grind retention and noise.

Common questions

Is a manual grinder good enough?

Yes. Quality manual burr grinders produce excellent grounds for pour-over and many can grind for espresso.

Conical or flat burrs?

Both make great coffee. Flat burrs often give more clarity, conical burrs are common and forgiving.
